Biography

Hayley Taylor always knew that she wanted to be a performer, it was something she dream't about since she was a little girl sitting in the back seat of her parent’s car composing lyrics to random songs on the radio. Hard work and dedication to her craft is definitely paying off for this 17 year old singer/songwriter from Gambo, NL. Hayley is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist. Her instrument of choice is the guitar, however, she continues to improve her skills on the bass, mandolin, and piano. Since emerging on the music scene in 2017, she has been showcasing her singing and playing skills at various local stages, house concerts and open mics. She has been performing regularly at the Citadel House in Lewisporte, NL and in July 2016 during a stay in Northern Canada she participated in the Nunavut’s Got Talent competition and was delighted to win the first place prize at that event.

During the Summer of 2018, Hayley started an event in her hometown, called "Open Mic with Hayley." Youth from around the area were invited to attend and showcase their talent. A freewill donation was accepted each night which she donates back to her community to help with local kids programs, and  her charity of choice, The Janeway Children's Hospital, in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Hayley’s musical roots are deeply steeped in rich family tradition; from a very early age she was inspired and mentored by a diverse group of musical performers with strong influences spanning from traditional, folk and country genres which she now passes on in her own distinctive musical stylings. Hayley has a unique instinct for music and performance, enriched with her soulful voice and budding songwriting skills, making this old soul a true gem.

Determination to succeed, a powerful ability to connect with the audience and an effervescent personality separates this very special artist. “Realizing that I have the ability to make people feel my music, inspires me to work even harder!” Hayley continually demonstrates that she has what it takes to make her dream of becoming a star, a reality.

In March 2017, Hayley signed on with Citadel House Records in Lewisporte, Newfoundland acquiring a recording contract with producer, Dean Stairs. Stairs, who already had a number of emerging artists signed on with him, seen great opportunity for this multi-talented musician.

During the summer of 2017, Hayley officially released her debut EP, "Here We Go!" This recording highlights her fun, energetic personality, her love of inspirational lyrics and her ability to write powerful songs.

Hayley has since became an independent artist and is now in the process of writing the final details for her songs which will be featured on her second album. Release date for this album is yet to be determined.

Hayley is most certainly an artist to watch out for as she will surly leave her mark on the East Coast music scene.
